20764C - Administering a SQL Database Infrastructure

Hi There

I was wondering if the Role based  Certification Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate be a good replacement for MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration i was busy with 20764C - Administering a SQL Database Infrastructure but am unable to obtain my certification due to the course expiring.

Your advise will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Abraham.

Welcome to Microsoft’s Learning Support. We are glad to assist you with your inquire.

As we understand from your post, due to the preferred Certification is set to expire, you would like to know which Certification will be best to obtain.

According to the Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate portal, this title include skills related to SQL Servers and Database administration. The Azure Database Administrator uses a variety of methods and tools to perform day-to-day operations, including applying knowledge of using T-SQL for administrative management purposes.

At this moment, there are only two Certifications including Database administration and SQL. We highly recommend to keep updated to new Exams and Certifications that might be released after January 31st.

The Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate is a good option, as it includes similar content, however, we would like for you to evaluate the Certification Skills Outline, to review the content included in the Exams and Certification path.
