AZ-104 certification retake before the expiry date **************

You can take the renewal assessment starting from 180 days before the expiry date and if you pass it extends the expiry date by a year

Hi Julian,

I earned this AZ-104 certification on January 25, 2021. At that time the validity for role based certification was 2 years. Now it is 18 months got over since I took this exam. And my certificate expires on January 26, 2023 at 5:29 AM (UTC -0-5.5:00) ie., at the end of 2 years. There is no renewal option for me. There is no Renewal button enabled for me in the Microsoft Certification dashboard.

I just want to know if I can give the exam this month when there is still 6 months validity. Will this remaining 6 months validity will be added to my new exam I write?

I had one of my certifications expiring on January 21 2023. I got an email notifying me that it was ready for renewal on July 26.

The Renew button was only available on July 27

It was only then that I was able to perform the renew assessment

So, you need to wait a few days

Go to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/certifications/azure-administrator/renew/ and this will tell you how many days are left before you can renew

You are unable to take the exam again, you can only renew.

And as I said. if you pass the renewal, it extends the expiry date by a year to January 2024
