Booked for 70-532 exam, then found out it is being retired. What are my options
Hi
I booked myself in for the 70-532 (with an exam+ double-resit voucher from my employer) but have just learnt the exam is being retired at end of year & replaced with the new Azure ones.
1) Is this actually the case, or have I misunderstood?
2) I am actually taking the exam as the elective to regain my MCSD. Will the AZ replacement count for this?
3) Can I cancel and rebook for the new exam at no cost, without losing the resits from the voucher (just in case, you understand)?
4) If I can't rebook, so take the 70-532 exam, and regain my MCSD, does this mean I lose it again on 31st of December?
It is correct that exam 70-532 will retire on December 31, 2018.
If you will pass this exam before it's retirement, definitely this will still be credited as part of the MCSD elective exams.
AZ-202 exam can't be replaced as an elective exam for MCSD certification.
In addition, AZ-202 is a transition exam that can be taken by candidate who passed exam 70-532 to earn the Azure Developer Associate certification. However, please be advised that this transition exam is only available in the market for a limited time and
scheduled to retire on March 31, 2019.
For as long as you passed the exam before it's retirement date, this will be counted as an elective exam and you can definitely re-earn your MCSD for App Builder 2018.
Regarding cancellation of your exam registration, I would suggest to contact Pearson Vue for further assistance at 855-542-6924 from Mondays to Fridays at 7:00 am to 7:00 pm PT.
