Hello RT1001.
Welcome to Microsoft Community. We hope this message finds you well.
As we understand, you want to know why your Certificate is only valid for one year. We will gladly assist.
Starting on June 30th, 2021, any Role-based or Specialty Certification earned will be valid for one year from the date it was completed.
Here is more information on the policies change announcement: Stay current with in-demand skills through free certification renewals - Microsoft Tech Community
If you have achieved the Certificate after June 30th midnight UTC the certification will be valid for 1-year from the date they were earned.
For policies, Microsoft automatically generates these Certifications and the expiration date achieved can be found in your Transcript.
The shift to validating skills every year (rather than every two years) helps align Microsoft Certifications to evolving job roles and in-demand skills because of the rapid pace of change in cloud technologies.
You can read and confirm the following information in the next link: Reminder: Role-based and specialty certifications to be valid for one year - Microsoft Tech Community.
