connect learn and certification profiles

I have a certification profile already under email address ***********. I recently started working for a new employer and they offer some additional training through your enterprise skills initiative site and also will pay or reimburse for certification exams. I want to connect my existing certification profile with my work learn account but have been unable to complete the process. The closest I get is getting my email and password entered and then I get an error msg saying that sign in was successful but I can't access the site right now, its restricted by the company. If I try it the other way and sign in to my employee learn account and try to add the personal account to my work account I just go in circles. My username and password are correct but it just doesn't actually sign me in.

Hi Cliff,

We hope you find well!

We have reviewed your request, we wish we could be of more help, but the support we have for Microsoft Learn is limited, as we are the Certifications support team.

After some research, we have located this article: Microsoft Learn frequently asked questions (FAQs) | Microsoft Docs.

This portal shows some steps that might be useful to complete the Merge that you are trying to perform. Please see them below:

Can I merge two profiles of mine into one?

Yes! Assume you have profile A and profile B; you are able to merge your completions and achievements of profile B into profile A by clicking "add account" on the Edit Your Profile page when signed into Profile A. After merging, only profile A will exist as both profiles learning history will be combined. The merging logic is as follows:

  • Your learning history and achievements will be merged, with duplicates removed from profile B into profile A.

  • Your Q&A contributions and activities will be merged, with duplicates removed from profile B into profile A.

  • Your linked accounts will be merged from profile B into profile A. Note: if the limit of "up to five school or work accounts and one personal account" is exceeded during the merge process, your merge request will be cancelled. If this happens, you'll need to resolve this issue before trying again.

  • Private profile mode will be enabled if any of the two profiles has this setting turned on.

  • All other settings will remain unchanged in profile A and editable on Edit Your Profile page anytime.

This process also applies if you need to link accounts through Learn. A simplified path to the previous information can be:

  1. Login to your Learn profile.

  2. Go to Settings > Account Management > Add Account.

  3. Login with your other account, it will be added automatically after.

If you cannot complete this process delete your Learn profile it will NOT delete any paid exams or certifications. After you delete this profile, you can access all your exams and certifications on the same account.

  1. Please go to the following link: Microsoft Learn | Microsoft Docs

  2. Go to the “Sign in” option on the top right corner.

  3. Log in with the email that you want to delete (That we have provided in the Private Message).

  4. Click on the top right corner icon and then select the "settings" option.

  5. Scroll down and select the option “Delete profile”

Ensure your Certification Profile @gmail.com is connected to your Microsoft Learn | Microsoft Docs profile. (If you want to know how to do it, please refer to aligning accounts between Certification Profile and Learn Profile)

Please let us know if you need support for your Certification profile.

If the assistance given solved your request, please indicate Yes” to the question Did this solve your issue? shown below, so other Learners can benefit from this. Remember your feedback is important to improve our service.

If no response is received, we will close and lock the case in the next business day.
