Connect your certification profile to your Microsoft Learn profile

I have been asked to recertify my Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification.

I have the following in the email I have been sent:

The first time you access a renewal assessment, you must connect your certification profile to your Microsoft Learn profile. If your certification profile uses a different Microsoft account than your Learn profile, follow the instructions at Aligning accounts between certification profile and Learn profile. Some connections might require assistance from Microsoft Certification Support, so plan ahead to allow for additional time.

How to align your certification and Learn profiles for connection

Change the personal Microsoft account (MSA) associated with your certification profile to match Learn (recommended)

  1. Go to the Microsoft Certification Support forum.

  2. Click on "Ask a Question" at the top of the page.

  3. Submit a request to change the personal account (MSA) associated with your Certification profile.

  4. An agent will engage you in a Private Messaging session to verify your personal information.

  5. Once your request has been processed, log into Learn using the personal account (MSA) associated with your Learn profile.

  6. Visit Connect a certification profile to Learn to complete the profile connection process.

Hi Warwick,

Thank you so much for being so active during this case!

Please keep in mind that personal email is required when you are accessing the Microsoft Certified Professional platform, and scheduling Certification Exams, not a partner or organization Email address.

Microsoft Certification profiles can be associated to a total of three E-mail addresses:

  1. An E-mail address is used to register and sign into the Certification Dashboard (Personal).

  2. An E-mail address that can be displayed in the Transcript and at the time of scheduling exams or modifying the Profile's information (referred to as Contact E-mail, this can be an organizational address).

  3. An organizational E-mail address that is associated to apply discounts given by your organization.

Once you set up your MCP profile with a personal MS account, you can link the profiles through these resources:

As mentioned on the private messages, here are the steps to connect your accounts:

1.    Sign into Learn using the same personal Microsoft account (MSA) you use to sign into your certification profile.

2.    Click on the Learn profile photo avatar and select Profile from the drop-down menu.

Image

3.    Select Certifications from the menu inside your profile.

Image

4.    Click the “Connect certification profile” button on the certifications page.

Once the connection is complete, you’ll never worry about separate certification and Learn profiles again.

What to do if you can’t connect

If you’re unable to connect your certification profile to your Learn profile, make sure the personal Microsoft account you’re using is the same one you use to log into your certification profile. For more details, visit Align certification profile and Learn profile accounts. If the account you usually use to sign into Learn is a work or school account, use the Add account function in your Learn settings:

1.    Click the photo avatar for your Learn profile

2.    Select Settings

Image

3.    Scroll to Account Management

4.    Click Add account to add the personal Microsoft account used to sign into your certification profile.
Image

5.    Return to the Connect process.

Note: You can only connect one certification account to Learn.

Please let us know the result of the process.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. If the information we shared was helpful, please let us know by choosing Yesto the question located in the bottom left corner of this post. In case we do not receive a response, it will be closed and locked after one business day.

We invite you to provide us with a PSR (Problem Steps Recorder), so we can evidence the situation.

Problem Steps Recorder (PSR) is a feature to automatically capture steps on a computer. These steps include a picture of the screen during each selection and a text description of the selected areas. You can use the tool to save performed actions, such as repro steps, which can be provided to this support to troubleshoot or diagnose an issue.

Please, take the next steps on your computer to reproduce the problem. You can pause the recording at any time and resume it later.

  • Select Start Record.

  • Make sure to use an up-to-date browser. (e.g., Edge)

  • Clear cache and cookies (Steps here). Make sure you check Preserve Favorites, website data and check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies; then click Delete.

  • On the Delete Browsing History window, make sure to uncheck Preserve Favorites, website data and check both Temporary Internet Files and Cookies; then click Delete.

  • Allow all third-party cookies through the browser settings.

  • Make sure that you have the latest version of the Edge browser or Internet explorer.

  • Open your Microsoft Edge Browser and begin a Microsoft Edge InPrivate browsing session by pressing the key combination Ctrl + Shift.

  • Go to Microsoft Learn

  • Login into your Microsoft’s Learn Profile and attempt to visualize your Information. (The email used to Login should be visible in the PSR)

  • Select Stop Record

  • In the Save As dialog box, type a name for the file, and then select Save

You will be able to use the PSR following the link specified for your operating system:

We really appreciate that you contacted us, and we would like to know if we can be of further assistance or if we shall proceed with the closure of this Forum.

Thanks. There is no "Connect certification profile" button so I will assume that nothing further is required.

I don't have the Problem Steps Recorder application installed, and as it is a work laptop which doesn't allow new applications to be installed, I am unable to provide you with what you have requested.

Thanks,

Warwick *******
