Couldn't renew Developer Certificate as it expired today

Hello,

I was planning to renew the Developer Certificate today as it was last day of expiry. I guess I calculated it wrong probably because it isn't available for me today - I assumed it will not be available after **************

As per email that I received, it states:
This is a final reminder to renew your Microsoft Azure Developer Associate************************

And I am writing this post on Dec 11 202110:35PM (pacific time), but the certificate is already showing as expired.

Is there any way to extend the expiration so that I can renew the certificate. Kindly help.

Thanks,

Santosh

Hello, Santosh.

Welcome to Microsoft’s Community, we hope this message finds you well.

As we understand from your post, you were unable to renew your Microsoft Azure Developer Associate Certification.

Please know that once the Certification expires, the candidates will not be able to take the renewal assessment and the Certification must be achieved again, by scheduling and passing the exam(s) required for it, as first-time earners would.

Regarding the renewal notifications:

Four (4) email notification reminders will be sent to the email linked to the candidate's MCID before their certification expires, in the following timeframes:

  • 6 months prior to certification expiring (renewal eligibility period starts, if renewal assessment for the certification is available)

  • 90 days prior to certification expiring

  • 30 days prior to certification expiring

  • 7 days prior to certification expiring (final reminder)

Regarding the renewal process:

  • Candidates will not be able to take the renewal assessment before this time frame.

  • The learning path can be accessed at any time.

  • Candidates who do not pass the renewal assessment on the first try can immediately attempt the assessment again. However, after the second try, they will need to wait 24 hours before additional attempts.

  • The number of attempts is not limited, but the assessment must be passed prior to the certification expiration date, or the certification will no longer be valid.

Keep in mind that our candidates are eligible to take their renewal assessment and extend the validity of their certification on Microsoft Learn within a 6 month period prior to their expiration dates. Once they are eligible to renew, they receive the notifications to the email account associated with their profiles. The time zone used to indicate the renewal, expiration, and achievement/completion of Certifications and Exams associated is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

We hope this information is clear and helpful.

We would really like to be of more help. Therefore, we would like to know if there is something else we can assist you. Otherwise, the case will be closed and locked after one business day.

Sincerely,

Xilena Navarro.

It will be useful if the email states the time is in GMT and isn't misleading since it is so time sensitive.
