DA-100 Exam Prep for Beginner (Ignite Challenge Learning Paths)

Hello,

I am relatively new to Power BI and am currently looking to find my first real role as a Data Analyst using this tool. I found out about the Microsoft Ignite Data Analyst challenge through another forum and completed the learning pathways to earn the free exam (DA-100). Most of my experience with the program has been with these learning pathways and using the labs provided. 

My question is, will studying these learning pathways be sufficient prep for the exam? Are these learning paths sufficiently detailed to cover the kinds of questions the exam will ask? Obviously I don't expect them to be word for word, but if I simply study by going through these pathways and completing these labs, will that be enough to pass the exam as someone without years of Power BI experience? I have found conflicting information online, and I want to know how much time would be needed for someone with my experience to prepare. I currently have it scheduled in two weeks time, but I want to know if that's a realistic expectation to prepare in that amount of time given my experience.

Since you are preparing the exam DA-100, you can download the exam skills outline or check the Official practice test on each exam page as these covers all objectives of the exam for preparation.

 

There will be two ways to prepare, through Online-Free and Instructor-led - paid options.

The Online-Free exam preparation are courses taken from MS Learn wherein you can have your personal time to complete the modules per courses, while the Instructor-led training is conducted by an experienced instructor in a classroom set up.

 

The best way to prepare for an exam is to practice the skills listed on the Exam Details page. To start preparing, review the “Skills measured” section of the Exam Details page and evaluate your skills against what is being assessed on the exam.
