Entry level developer path

Hi,

In the MCSD learning path, the C# language is/was taught as part of the path towards the App Builder certification there is/was an entire paper dedicated to it (70-483).

Looking through the content for the Azure Developer Associate and Microsoft 365 Developer Associate material on Microsoft Learn, they don't appear to teach it?  Please correct me if I'm wrong and point me to the learning materials.

Where does a novice start if they want to become a C# / .NET developer without prior experience?  What if you want to build desktop apps or Xamarin mobile apps?

I can't seem to find an answer to those questions myself on Microsoft Learn, whereas before the role based certifications - if you wanted to be a C# / .NET developer, it was clear that the MCSD was what you needed.

Thanks

Hi Glen.Gibson,

Please be advised that we are moving away from the MCSA, MCSE, and MCSD acronyms, this is because we are making a significant changes in our certification program. This changes will clearly state that a candidate is a “ Microsoft Certified” in the job role. And this will show the level at which certificate a candidate is being certified (fundamentals, associate and expert.)

Please see recommended path to Microsoft Role-based Certification or the equivalence from MCSE/MCSD to our new role based. See screenshot below:

To learn more about these certificates, please visit our Browse Role-based Certifications page,

Meanwhile, you still have the chance to complete the path for the MCSD: App Builder or Take exam 70-483 until January 2021. And note that though it will retire, it will still showcase the achievement that you completed and will still remain on your transcript as a valid certificate or exam.

This is a standard boilerplate response, copied and pasted in numerous other questions.

It does not answer my question at all.

What does one do to train in C# / .NET development under the new role based system as none of the learning paths seem to have any course materials pertaining to learning the language?  Only on how to perform actions in Azure.

I understand that.  That's why I asked what my options will be for studying C# & .NET after January 2021.

You've confirmed what I've said, but you've not answered my question.  What are my options for studying C# & .NET after 70-483 is retired?

Hi Glen.Gibson,

Please be advised that currently there will be no replacement exams or course for the said exam.

If you are interested to have the exam be added on your transcript, you will need to take and pass the exam before it retires,

You may also check Microsoft Blogs from time to time for any available updates.
