Error when scheduling an exam

Hello. I keep getting this error when trying to schedule an exam. My Microsoft account works just fine. I can sign in to microsoft.com etc, and I can access my email. But I can't schedule an exam. I have tried using different browsers (yes, including edge) and incognito mode on chrome/brave, still the same error every time. It's been like this for a few days now. I need to take this exam for my job, so it's important that I get to schedule fast.

I talked with Pearson VUE, they redirected me to Microsoft.

Let me be of assistance by guiding you on how you can register your preferred exam.

 

When registering for an exam, please make sure to fill out all the required fields with asterisk (*) and are correctly filled ( No Special Characters like \!@#$ etc).

 

I would highly recommend to follow the steps below to basic troubleshooting steps.

 

  1. Make sure you have the latest browser (Edge/Chrome/IE or Mozilla Firefox)

  2. Try using your browser in InPrivate/Incognito

  3. Clear browser cache and cookies

  4. Allow all cookies/third party cookies on your browser settings

  5. Sign back in to your Microsoft Certification profile and try to schedule your exam.

 

Once the above mentioned steps did not fix the error, you may follow the steps below:

 

1. Open a registration window

2. Press F12 function key

3. Once you see a Developer Tool window popping up on the screen

4. Click on "Network Tab"

5. Clear the session (Please find highlighted in screenshot)

 

 

6. Refresh the screen

7. Try registering the exam

 

In addition to this, to have your case escalated to our Support team, kindly send us a PSR (Problem Step Recorder) replicating the issue so we can investigate further. Hi, Herizon_L.

I'm sorry, but I really hope you realize that the picture you got there of Edge, is either really outdated, or not of Edge at all. Edge now uses Chromium.

The highlighted button is nowhere to be found. The whole developer window doesn't even look remotely the same. Please refresh your knowledge on Edge before you assist people with problems. It is also my belief that, instead of Microsoft telling us clients to follow steps, they should fix their own problems.

After clicking it, and re-trying to schedule the exam, the error still persists.

Also tested on InPrivate on latest Edge.

Thank you for your prompt response and for following the recommendations provided by Herizon_L.

 

After checking your profile, I noticed that the name of your city is in your local alphabet.

 

Please be advised that the system will only recognize Roman (English)Alphabets and this could be the reason why you keep getting the error.

 

That being said, I made some adjustments in your profile.

 

Please try to schedule your exam again and if issue still persist, please send us a PSR of the incident starting from the time that you sign in until you reach the error.

Hi, Krixtne_Mndz.

I noticed the Area Code for my phone number. I don't have an area code, and still, it is highlighted as required. Why is that? There is no area code where I live. We only have a country code, and a 8 digit phone number.

Also, this worked. Wonderful! Now you know why so many people have this issue. It's also a wonder why the microsoft devs who made this system didn't think this through. Thank you, you seem intelligent, please share your knowledge with your not-so-intelligent devs. Simply, the fact.
