Exam Registration Process - Phone # not being accepted

Hi Support,

I cannot register my local U.S. phone number on the certification profile page while trying to schedule an exam for a Microsoft Certification.

I keep getting this error: "The Phone Number you provided is invalid, please provide a valid phone number and try again."

However, my phone number is valid in my country. Please provide directions on how I can fix this error, so I can complete my registration ASAP.

Kind Regards,

Ahmed **removed**

Hi ahmed,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you're encountering an error while attempting to register for the exam, and I acknowledge the importance of your time and effort. Allow me to offer additional information to assist you in swiftly resolving this issue.

To prevent an error during exam registration, make sure to use a Microsoft account/personal email when signing in and all that required fields marked with an asterisk * are correctly filled (Kindly remove any Specia Characters (like., \! @ # etc.,) from your Name and Address), save and continue. For the phone number, you may move the first three digits to your number to the area code and the remainder to the number field if you don't have an area code. Also, make sure that your home address has a postal code. You may refer to the image below.

If you are still having issues registering for your exam, kindly send us the complete PSR (Problem Steps Recorder)  throughout the entire process, starting from the sign-in page up until the last page that shows you're unable to proceed through the private message along with the needed information to verify your profile and provide you with more options.

I hope this helps and please let me know if further assistance is needed.

I look forward to your response. Please note that if no response is received after two business days, the case will be closed and locked. After the case is locked, we will no longer be able to respond, even through Private Messages.
