I want to ask about the update on the certification on the Microsoft Azure IoT Developer AZ-220 .

Based on your inquiry, we understand that you want to clarify the new Learning path for the AZ-220 Microsoft Azure IoT Developer and the updated certification. We are happy to help you.

On July 30th of 2023 the certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty was retired along with the exam to achieve the certificate: Exam AZ-220: Microsoft Azure IoT Developer.

If you passed the Exam AZ-220 before July 31, 2023, your Azure IoT Developer Specialty certification will be active for one year. If you’ve already earned the Azure IoT Developer Specialty certification, it will stay on your transcript.

We want to inform you that currently there are no direct replacements for the mentioned: Azure IoT Developer Specialty. Microsoft is currently evaluating which possible alternatives will be recommended. However, for the moment there is no confirmation for this.

In addition to this, we recommend you check the Azure certifications we currently offer so you can find the best one for you based on your needs:

• Certifications for system administrators (IT pros): you can consider the Azure Administrator Associate certification and the related training. If you dive deep into implementing security controls and threat protection, managing identity and access, and protecting data, applications, and networks in cloud and hybrid environments, the Azure Security Engineer Associate.

• Certifications for developers: You can check the Azure Developer Associate certification, which validates the skills necessary to design, build, test, and maintain cloud applications and services. If you want to specialize you can consider the DevOps Engineer Expert.
