Is it possible to renew AZ 203 to AZ-204 , without giving fresh exam?

You don't renew exams, you renew certifications.

I suspect that as you still refer to AZ-203 which retired in 2022, that you haven't renewed the certification each year to keep the certification active.

You need to check if your Azure Developer Associate certification is still active on your Microsoft Learn transcript.

It the certification has expired, then you will need to take AZ-204 again.

As we understand from your post, you would like to know if you could renew Exam AZ-203. We are happy to help!

By our expiration policy, role-based and specialty Certifications achieved or renewed after June 30th, 2021, expire one (1) year after their achievement date. When renewed, their expiration date is extended for one year as well.

180-days prior to a Certification's expiration date, its renewal assessment will be enabled.

Once the renewal assessment of your Certificate is enabled, you may receive an email notification to let you know that you can renew your Certificate, as well as the URL to take the assessment through the Microsoft Learn platform.

The renewal assessment is free and can be taken as many times as necessary while the Certification is active. Though it is important to note that, if a candidate does not pass the assessment after their second try, they must wait 24 hours before their next attempt.

In case you do not complete the renewal assessment before your Certification expires, you will be required to pass all the necessary Exams again if you wish to re-earn your Certification.

As mentioned by Julian Sharp, Exams do not expire, and thus renewals are only available for Certificates. Passing an Exam is only required to achieve it for the first time, or to re-earn it after it has expired.
