Latest certifications for SQL Server DBA's

Indeed, MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration certification is retiring on January 31, 2021.

Note that there is no direct replacement for the said MCSA but there are recommended paths for this certification to the Azure Role based certification.

Below are the recommended path available for MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration:

·         Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate

·         Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate

·         Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate​

·         Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate​

·         Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate

After you passed the last exam required for the certification your transcript will be updated. It may also take up to 24 - 48 hours for the system to recognize your new certification status.
