Legal name has a comma

My legal name is East Asian, and so it's in the format of

However, when I requested a name change, they changed it to

As we understand, your name is different on your ID than your Microsoft account.

Since the Microsoft´s format for names is different than your ID, it is mandatory to use the Microsoft´s format order, and that is the reason why the legal name change team changed your name this way.

Also, the system will not allow to have a comma on your name by default.

However no worries, this will not affect you in any negative way, and you will be able to present your exam as normal.

 

According to Microsoft regulations, China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan candidates need to ensure that name provided is same as the name (Pin Yin or Romanization) that shows in candidate's ID card or passport.

 

Please keep in mind that your Certification profile has to match with your ID, so we highly recommend you use the name that appears on your international passport in case you are required to verify that information with an official ID.

As mentioned on the previous interactions, please keep in mind the following information:

  1. It is mandatory to use the Microsoft´s format order for your Certification Account.

  2. The system will not allow to have a comma on your name by default.

  3. This will not affect you in any negative way, and you will be able to present your exam as normal.

Therefore, we highly recommend to keep your name format as it is right now. However, if you still want to change it you can do it by filling this form: Microsoft Certification Profile Name Change Request Form.
