Linking Microsoft Learn company account to personal account

Hi,

I have been using my company's email address and Azure Tenant credentials for all the trainings and learnings (learn.microsoft.com).

I would like to link this account to my personal account as I will be leaving my company soon.

But:

- my company does not allow signing in learn.microsoft.com with anything else than my company's Azure credentials, preventing me from authenticating using my personal details to create the account link from my company's device

- my company does not allow signing in with my company's Azure credentials outside of my company's network, preventing me from authenticating using my company's details to create the account link from a personal device

I'm stuck in a catch 22.

Can a Microsoft Admin assist linking the 2 accounts together?

Thanks.

Hello, Sebastien Norroy.

Welcome to Microsoft’s Community.

Based on your inquiry, we understand that you need to change your work account (ADD) to your personal account (MSA) because you will no longer have access. However, you are unable to access your profile with your work account. We are happy to assist you with this.

We’re providing this information because of recent updates to our internal policies.

We want to inform you that to change your Microsoft account, you need to have access to it. The process is done within the account, so if you can't log in, you won't be able to switch to your personal account

That is why it is important that users have access to their own Microsoft accounts and that there are no harms with losses and thus be able to prevent third parties from accessing their accounts.

In this situation, we advise candidates to use personal accounts rather than work accounts to avoid any future disconnection issues with work or study accounts.

We understand that it can be frustrating given the time you have invested, but please be aware that these measures are due to internal security policies.

Alternatively, we encourage you to create an account with a personal email to obtain future certifications.

Thank you Maria.

So, in a nutshell, are you saying that because I cannot authenticate with my personal account on my professional device (company policy restriction) and because I cannot authenticate with my professional account on my personal device (company policy restriction), there is basically no way for me to link my personal and professional learning accounts?

Hello, Sebastien Norroy.

Thank you for your reply.

Thank you for your understanding. Currently, we cannot link Microsoft Learn accounts with others without the user having access to their account due to recent changes in internal policies.

This measure is to ensure that data and profile contents remain secure and are not accessed by third parties. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
