Linking old MCP ID to new MS Learn account

Many years ago, I took some Microsoft certifications and became an MCP. That MCP profile was configured with my old phone, email, from my old company which are not valid nor I recall any more as I don't work there anymore. However, I do still have my old MCP ID number. I would like to recover my old cert details and migrate/move them to my new Microsoft account which is linked with my new Microsoft certs. Please advice me on how to recover my old MCP ID and move the old certs

Please tell us which of your two accounts you desire to keep as primary. We want confirmation before doing it and not leaving one you do not have access to. Once you choose one of the account please note all certification and exams will be on that chosen account.

Here are the steps to change your email.

After going over your account, please follow these steps:

1. Start a Microsoft Edge InPrivate browsing session (pressing the key combination Ctrl + Shift + N once the browser is open).

2. Copy and paste this link into the private window’s address bar. https://mcp.microsoft.com/mcp/home/migrate

3. Access with an Email address not used for Microsoft learning before, please note if the email has no Microsoft Learn connected to it you will have to account create you will be prompted to create one (if in your case, if you do not have one, we invite you to create one Here)

4. It is possible you encounter an error message. If that happens, please click on MCP Home, as shown in the image below.

5. After clicking on MCP Home, you will be redirected to Your Dashboard.

Image6. While being on Your Dashboard page, please delete the URL and paste this one: https://mcp.microsoft.com/mcp/home/migrate

7. After pasting the URL and clicking on enter, you will see this website. Please fill in the fields MC ID and Access code using the credentials provided over Private Message.

We understand that you need to change the name on your Microsoft Profile; we are happy to assist you in this matter.

 

If the name on your Microsoft certification profile doesn't exactly match the name on the government-issued identification you will present at your exam appointment (in-person and online), you’ll need to submit a change request from your certification profile.

Step by step instructions:

·         Sign into your certification profile.

·         Select the "Edit profile" button, then select the "Request change" link next to your legal name.

·         Provide the name from your identification (Latin characters only) to change to and submit the request for approval. You will receive an email with your support request number, and a second email within 24 business hours (Monday-Friday) confirming if your request has been approved or if a support agent needs additional validation.

·         Please note changes may take up to 72 hours to reflect across systems.
