MCSA 2016

Hi Support,

I have exam 70-410, 411, 412, 413, 414, 415, 416 and got the “Microsoft® Certified Solutions Expert: Server Infrastructure” since 2013. (the status shows Inactive now)

And I passed 70-745 on July 2019 – got the “MCSE: Core Infrastructure — Certified 2019”

Last week I passed 70-345 and got the “MCSE: Productivity — Certified 2019”

When I check my “Go to certification planner” under dashboard, it shows “Certifications currently in Progress.” Microsoft® Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2016 and all the requirement is incomplete

The question is do I need to take the MCSA 2016? As I already got the “MCSE: Core Infrastructure” and “MCSE: Productivity”.

Thanks

JM

Answer

Hi JM,

Congratulations for attaining the MCSE: Core Infrastructure and MCSE: Productivity certification!

Based from the exams and details that you have provided, I believe that since you have attained the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 certification, you have earned the following credentials which are from two different certification paths:

MCSE: Core Infrastructure

MCSE: Productivity certification paths

This suggests that you need not to complete the other qualifying MCSA certification anymore (MCSA: Windows Server 2016) the way it is specified on your Certification Planner.

On the other hand, if you wish to simply attain the MCSA: Windows Server 2016 certification in order to upgrade from MCSA: Windows Server 2012, you just need to pass one exam which is Exam 70-743 Upgrading Your Skills to MCSA: Windows Server 2016.
