MCSD App Builder requirements

Hi,

one of our employee is trying to reach an MCSD: App Builder certification.

He has passed these exams: 70-480, 70-483, 70-486.

Let's look at the MCSD requirements here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/mcsd-app-builder-certification

We can see that all we need is to get MCSA (he already has) and additionally pass ONE of these exams: 70-357, 70-486, 70-487.

He has already passed 70-486 exam, so as for me he should get the MCSD but the system says he has not met the requirements. And on the page with the MCSD requirements at the bottom (Certification details section) we can see different information:

MCSA + take THREE exams (70-357 AND 70-486 AND 70-487).

So, where is a truth? Which are the actual requirements for the MSCD: App Builder?

Thanks in advance,

Answer

Hello Artyuha,

We apologize for the confusion regarding the MCSD: App Builder requirements.

Indeed to achieve this certification, your employee must complete one of the prerequisites and one (1) elective exam as shown in the image below:

You mentioned that your employee already taken the exam 70-486 which is also one of the requirements to complete the MCSA: Web Applications certifications as shown below:

Please be advised that as per Microsoft’s exam policy, a candidate cannot use the same exam to satisfy the requirements for both an MCSA and an elective in the same MCSE or MCSD path. This is the reason why the system is saying that he has not met the requirements for MCSD App Builder.

With this, he needs to take the other elective exams, either 70-357 or 487 in order to earn the MCSD App Builder certification.

I hope this helps.
