MCSE 2000 certificate

Hi,

My MCSE 2000 certification has been transferred to the Learn Microsoft platform, but both my MCP and MCSE certifications appear as "Retired." I was under the impression that MCSE certifications do not get retired. Could you please assist me in accessing my certifications?

Hello, Engin Acar2.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

Based on your inquiry, we understand your MCP and MCSE certifications display the 'Retired' tag in your Learn Profile.

MCSE and MCP certifications do not expire. However, the MCP certification was issued as a courtesy/welcome certification when you pass your first exam, regardless of if the exam in question completed or not a certification pathway. When the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) program modernized to Microsoft Certifications and then to the current Microsoft Credentials, MCP certifications were no longer issued. For this reason, MCP certifications retired.

Your MCSE (as well as your MCP) certification continues active and valid. However, the Retired status is because MCSE Certifications no longer reflect current technologies. Microsoft continuously monitors industry trends, which results in the modification, retirement of old certifications, and introduction of new certifications based in current technologies and industry trends.
