MCSE certification (sql server)

Hi, I have passed the MCSE: Data Platform certification in 2013. Currently I hold a MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014. I want to go for the MCSE, please advice which exam code I need to take in order to get the MCSE?

I am not sure whether 70-762 will be the correct one or the 70-464 to earn a MCSE.

I am a (db) developer. Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Dinesh J.

Hello Dinesh J.,

The only MCSE Certification that is associated with MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 is MCSE: Data Management and Analytics.

In order for you to obtain this, you need to pass either one of the exams listed below:

·         Exam 70-464

·         Exam 70-465

·         Exam 70-466

·         Exam 70-467

·         Exam 70-762

·         Exam 70-767

·         Exam 70-768

·         Exam 70-777

Please note that if you have used any of the exams mentioned above to obtain your MCSA, it cannot be used as an elective for you to have your MCSE. Please see image below:

It may take 24-48 hours from the time that you passed all the exam requirements for your certificates and badges to be available for download on Your Dashboard (for exams taken through Pearson VUE}.

On the other hand, badges and certificates that were taken through Certiport can be obtained on their page as for the reason that they will not be available on your dashboard.

If this solves your problem, please indicate “Yes” to the question and the thread will automatically be closed and locked. In case we do not receive a response, the thread will be closed and locked after two business days.

Hi Rosalie,

Thank you for the quick response. I had passed the following (transition) exams to get this MCSA:

  • Transition your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012 -Part 2 (Exam: 458)
  • Transition your MCTS on SQL Server 2008 to MCSA: SQL Server 2012 -Part 1 (Exam: 457)

Also, passed "Transition your MCITP on SQL Server 2008 to MCSE: Data Platform (Exam: 459)" but it's inactive now.

Just to confirm, does that mean I can take the exam 70-762 or 70-464 to earn the MCSE badge, right?

Thanks,

Dinesh J.
