Merge Multiple Certification Profiles

I just learned recently that I have 2 Microsoft accounts need to get them merged. Below are the MCID's for both and I've noted which account, I'd like to keep Additionally, I have the AZ-104 exam scheduled for *Removed* and would like to have this profile completed prior to that test date.

Microsoft Learn Profiles
MCID *Removed* <-- keep this account

MCID *Removed* <-- this account has AZ-104 scheduled for *Removed*

That said, if it would be advantageous for me merge the profiles after the exam, to make things easier, please let me know.

Thanks

Hi, Jon!

Welcome to Microsoft's Community.

According to your inquiry, we understand that you need to merge your certification profiles into only one, so you can link all your certifications to your current account and get all your certifications.

Taking into account the situation, we strongly advise you to take the scheduled exam before we proceed with the accounts merging, as the appointment may be lost during the process. However, the decision is yours.

We look forward to your response. In case we do not receive an answer within two business days the thread will be closed and locked, and you will not be able to reply through either channel.

Hello Franklin,
I had wondered if that would be an issue, so I'll just keep the exam appt and deal with this afterward.

That said, I did some further digging and I think my employer had setup the second account as there's been a big certification push the last couple of years and I don't remember if I tried to change the email account to my personal email or if something else occurred. Either way, I was getting the email/response to this thread in my work email, which leads me to believe that I either tried to associated this 2nd account with personal email or change it to my personal email or if something else had occurred.

My first flag that something may have been up is that when I registered for the exam, the form did the search for discounts and I did get an exam discount, due to my employer and had wondered how the registration process figured that out. So I am wondering if might be advantageous to keep them separate, but ensure my 2nd account has my correct work email address, and re-associate any future exam results that somehow get tied to the 2nd work related account, back to my personal account.

Thoughts/Suggestions?

Hello, Jon.

We hope this message finds you well.

Please note that Certification Profiles (with their MCID's) are different entities from Microsoft Accounts, Learn Profiles and Microsoft Community Profiles. That is why you may have received the answer to this forum in different email addresses.

A Certification Profile stores the information about exams and certifications earned from the Microsoft Certified Professional program and is the one within our support scope.

Please be advised that Microsoft Certification Program handles inquiry related to Microsoft Certification Profile, certificates and exams that are being taken from the Learning Site, so our access to Microsoft Accounts is very limited.

For assistance regarding your training, XP, badges and courses, we recommend reviewing the Microsoft Learn FAQ's:

If you have questions about your Microsoft Accounts, we recommend contacting the Microsoft Account Support Team. You can follow the next link:

Regarding the discount questions, please check this website where you will find the guidelines about how to link a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) ID to a partner organization.

In any case, if you have any questions regarding Certification Profile or Certifications, please let us know and we will happily help.

We look forward to your response. In case we do not receive an answer within one business day the thread will be closed and locked, and you will not be able to reply through either channel.

Let me ask my question in a different and more simplistic way

I'm currently scheduled for the AZ-104 exam under MCID *Removed*. If I pass this exam, can I get it re-associated to my other id of MCID *Removed*or would I be better off in cancelling my AZ-104 exam under MCID *Removed*and rescheduling an ensure it's getting scheduled under MCID *Removed*?

Hello, Jon.

We hope everything is going well for you.

You can attend the exam and request the merging of the two Certification Profiles (MCID's) after that. Your exams and certifications will be under the Certification Profile of your chose after the procedure is completed.

Also, you can cancel the exam and schedule through the other Certification Profile as well. In both cases, the result will be the same, so it is your decision.

We will be attentive to your comments. After one business day without ana answer, the thread will be concluded.
