Microsoft exam results review

Hi ,

I have retaken my MD-101 Exam via Pearson VUE **date removed**. I am here to ask if Microsoft could query the exam results.

My Score: **score removed**

With the questions that had the most percentage - 25-30 % - I scored over 70% from what the score chart says. The was much higher than my previous one so it doesn't seem too accurate. Putting the two score cards together even shows that with my most recent exam marks, I should have easily passed this.

I spoke to Pearsons Vue to get these remarked but they said to raise it with you.

I assume I needed around 7 more marks if that but I am almost certain I passed this with flying colours.

Last score was **score removed** but I can honestly say I done way better in the one so I would really like for this to get remarked.

I have also completed the challenging exam score form.

Hello Zahra,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want your MD-101 exam to be remarked as knowing your accurate exam result is very important. Let me guide you by providing some details about understanding Exam scoring and score reports.

Based on my resources, Microsoft scored exam as a scaled score. This is a standard practice across the certification and licensure industry as they help learners to gauge improvement between retakes. The passing score is based on a subject matter experts’ review of the question difficulty in relation to an expected skill. For easier sets of questions, more points are required to pass. For more difficult sets of questions, fewer points are required to pass.

Furthermore, all technical exam scores are reported on a scale of 1 to 1,000. A passing score is 700 or greater. As this is a scaled score, it may not equal 70% of the points. A passing score is based on the knowledge and skills needed to demonstrate competence as well as the difficulty of the questions.

You’ve also mentioned that you scored 70% on the score chart, but because each section of the exam contains a different number of questions, you cannot combine the results across these sections to determine your overall result. In other words, there is no one-to-one relationship between the length of the bars and your pass/fail status.
