Migrate Microsoft Learning Profile and Certifications to new Microsoft Account

Hi,

I would like to transfere my Microsoft Learning Profile with the Certificates to my new Microsoft Account.
As far as I have read I can not migrate it on my own but I would require help from your side.
Can you provide support here?

Best regards

Dear Jonas,

Welcome to Microsoft's Community. We are more than happy to assist you.

We understand you want to recover your profile.

Please keep in mind that as of today, all Certification profiles have been migrated to Learn and that the Certification Profile program is now retired and no longer exists. This also means that you will no longer receive an MCID (MCID was a unique ID for the Certification Profile). When Certification Profiles retired, MCIDs/MCP also retired. Your unique identifier for your Learn Profile is now your Learn Username.

Additionally, due to the updates that have been implemented to the Learn platform over the course, and the improvements in our security processes, our support team is no longer able to verify or update any Microsoft Accounts associated with your Certification Profile. Previous services related to Certification Profiles (merging, migrations, legal name change, etc.) are now self-assisted by users.

With that being said, you can fully manage your profile now! In order to transfer your all certifications from one profile to the other one, you need first create a new Learn Profile using the previous account tied with your certificate profile, and follow instructions below:

  • If you remember any other accounts that may have been used to start / complete exam registrations in the past (as i note that you mentioned your exam history has disappeared), we suggest using those accounts to access MS Learn and check if your information is visible.

See below some tips to retrieve other unexpected accounts:

Check your browser navigation history and your saved passwords

Check all possible emails.

Go to Learning dashboard and click on 'Credentials' and then 'Certifications' tab.

  • If you haven't linked your newly created Learn Profile to the Certification Profile (MCP Profile), please kindly follow these steps:

    • 1.    Be sure to clear your browser’s cookies and cached history.
      2.    Use InPrivate window using
      Microsoft edge.
      3.    Click on this link to go to Your Dashboard.
      4.    Use the Personal email associated with your certification profile (Please make sure it is also the one you used for MCP Profile)
      5.    Select
      Credentials > Certifications
      6. If you have not connected your profile to MS Learn, make sure to click on ¨Connect certification profile¨

After completing it, you should be able to see your certificates in Learn Profile, and then you may create another Learn Profile, i.e., your preferred Learn Profile, using the account you want your certificate to be transferred to.

Please kindly view the merging process below to transfer your Learning Path from one account to the other one:

Situation I:  As I note that the suffix of your email is @outlook.de, if your profiles are both personal, to transfer your certificate you must have a third Learn Profile (which could be considered as a way of everything but kitchen sink) under a school/work account and follow the steps below:

Note: The System forbids the action of merging Personal Profile and Personal Profile pointedly. But you can try to transfer your data to the other Personal Learn Profile by transferring it to your Work Profile first.

The school/work Learn Profile works as a 'bridge' that allows you to transfer certification/training progress from a personal account Learn Profile to another personal profile.

  1. Log into your school/work account (profile A) and add the profile that has your certificate (Profile B). This transfers your certificate from B to A. Please wait for the successful merge message.

  2. In a private tab, log into your work account and remove the old personal account (Settings > Account Management > Linked accounts > remove).

  3. Log into your main preferred Learn Profile and add your school/work Learn Profile (from Step 1). This transfers your certificate from the work Learn Profile to your preferred personal Learn Profile

In case you are not part of an organization that can assign you a work or school account, we advise visiting the article: Signing up for Power BI with a new Microsoft 365 Trial - Power BI.

Situation II: If you need to transfer your certificates from your Work Profile (Work Account) to your Personal Profile (Personal Account), we would like to bring the steps below for your reference:

  1. Open Microsoft Learn

  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account (MSA).

  3. Click on your user icon, located at the upper right corner of the screen, and select "Settings."

  4. Under the "Account management" section, select "Add account." (You can have up to five school or work accounts and one personal account linked to your profile to use for signing in.)

  5. Please wait until there is a green sign

In the end, we have started a Private Message where we will request details regarding your account to complete an evaluation process. To protect your data, send the information over the Private Message and once we have received your comments, we will validate the profile and get back to you with updates.

We look forward to your response. However, we are truly sorry that according to the regulation designed to maintain the harmony of the community, inactive case beyond 2 days will be automatically closed.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

Wish you all the best
