Regarding Microsoft exam for Sql Server developers

Hi,

Greetings!

My name is Deepesh and I am currently working in SQL Server/SSIS/Datawarehouse technologies as a developer. I would like to participate in Microsoft Certifications matching my skills but looks like all certification exams for SQL Sever/ Datawarehouse technologies are retiring Jan 31st, 2021.

Could you please recommend the alternative certification exams I can go for which covers elements of SQL Sever/ Datawarehouse technologies and would be helpful in future career growth?

Awaiting your response.

Thank you

Deepesh Vyas

Hi, Deepesh.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft’s Forums.

We are getting back to you about the entry you created regarding a Sql Server Certification you would like to get which will be retired in Jan 31st, 2021.

Please know that in order to keep the Microsoft Certified Professional program current, Microsoft Learning continually reviews the current and planned Certifications to ensure these reflect the latest Microsoft technologies that MCPs use every day. For that Reason these type of Certifications will be retired on Jan 31st, 2021.

Be noted that once a Certification is retired, it gets immediately replaced for another one that is based on the most recent Microsoft technologies. We kindly invite you to be attentive to your email for notices about replacements of the Exams you have taken.

Please visit the following link to verify the Certifications that will be retired, Microsoft Retired Certifications.

If this solves your problem, please indicate “Yes”. In case we do not receive a response to the question the thread will automatically be closed and locked within two business days.

Kind regards,

Diego Aranzalez.

Hello Diego,

Thank you for your response. This is really helpful.

As you mentioned in response,  once a Certification is retired, it gets immediately replaced for another one that is based on the most recent Microsoft technologies. I have seen the Certifications that will be retired and few of them are in my to-do list which I was planning to participate in. Since, I have not yet taken or passed such certifications, I believe no notices about replacements of exams would be sent to my email.

It would be helpful, if you can recommend the Certifications which are active and would be replacing certifications for MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014, MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Dev. MCSA: SQL 2016 BI Development programs.

Thank you!

Regards

Deepesh Vyas
