Hello Jazz_Fan.
Welcome to Microsoft’s Community.
We understand that your Certificate expired and you want to renew it. We will gladly assist.
Keep in mind that once the Certification expires, the candidates will not be able to take the renewal assessment and the Certification must be achieved again, by scheduling and passing the exam(s) required for it, as first-time earners would.
Please bear in mind that you must pass the renewal assessment on Microsoft Learn to renew your certification. There are no exceptions to this policy.
We recommend taking the renewal assessment well before expiration to allow time for any unforeseen events, such as medical emergencies, technical issues, or multiple retakes.
Regarding the renewal notifications, four (4) email notification reminders will be sent to the email linked to the candidate's MCID before their certification expires, in the following timeframes:
6 months prior to certification expiring (renewal eligibility period starts, if renewal assessment for the certification is available)
90 days prior to certification expiring
30 days prior to certification expiring
7 days prior to certification expiring (final reminder)
Regarding the renewal process:
Candidates will not be able to take the renewal assessment before this time frame.
The learning path can be accessed at any time.
Candidates who do not pass the renewal assessment on the first try can immediately attempt the assessment again. However, after the second try, they will need to wait 24 hours before additional attempts.
The number of attempts is not limited, but the assessment must be passed prior to the certification expiration date, or the certification will no longer be valid.
