Renew my expired certification

You must pass the renewal assessment before the certification's expiry date. You cannot renew a certification once it has expired. The renewal period is open for 180 days before the certification's expiry date. The renewal period cannot be extended or reopened.

My certification expired. What happens now?

If your certification expires, you must earn the certification again by passing the required exam(s).

We understand you have an expired certification.

We hope you understand that our candidates are eligible to take their renewal assessment and extend the validity of their certification on Microsoft Learn within a 6 month period prior to their expiration dates. Once they are eligible to renew, they receive the notifications to the email account associated with their profiles.

Regarding the renewal process:

•           Candidates will not be able to take the renewal assessment before this time frame.

•           The learning path can be accessed at any time.

•           Candidates who do not pass the renewal assessment on the first try can immediately attempt the assessment again. However, after the second try, they will need to wait 24 hours before additional attempts.

•           The number of attempts is not limited, but the assessment must be passed prior to the certification expiration date, or the certification will no longer be valid.
