Renewing DA100 certification VS sitting for PL300 certification

I already have da-100 certification, and have go through renewal test, in order to obtain pl300 certification, do I need to sit for the new one? Or I would already certified for that with current da-100 certification?

You renew a certification not the exam, so if you passed DA-100 you gained the Power BI Data Analyst certification and this is what you renew. You should not need to take PL-300 unless your certification has expired.

Go to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/certifications/power-bi-data-analyst-associate/renew/ to see if you can renew

Hello, Xiao!

Welcome to Microsoft's Community. We are glad to assist with your inquiry.

We understand from your post, you have questions about the Certificate Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

The Exam DA-100 was retired earlier this year. Its replacement it's the Exam PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst. Since you already have the Certificate for Power BI Data Analyst Associate, in order to renew it you should take the Exam PL-300.

As our member of the Community mentioned, you can check if you are eligible to renew the Certificate using this link: Renewal for Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate - Certifications | Microsoft Learn

We hope this helps.
