Replacement certification after Exam 70-778 (Power BI) is retired

I was considering taking Exam 70-778: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI.

However, I noticed that it will be retired at the beginning of 2021.

Just wondering what the status of the certification would be after the exam is retired, and whether there are alternative certifications covering similar skills?

Hello MJV888,

 

Indeed, 70-778 is retiring on January 31, 2021. At this time, there is no direct replacement for this exam as all certifications are now being transitioned to Azure role based.

 

Though you may check for Exam DA-100: Analyzing Data with Microsoft Power BI to confirm if they have same information.

 

Also, after a certification retires, Microsoft continues to review the corresponding technologies to determine whether they are still relevant. If the corresponding technology is determined to no longer be relevant, the associated certifications are moved to the Certification History section of the transcript.

 

You may also check for some announcements through Microsoft training and certification help page.
