SC-100 certification license is still valid but its prerequisite exam AZ-500 license expired ,now what is the current status of SC-100

I had cleared SC-100 Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect exam, Also renewed it and this certification is valid until >removed<.

But I forgot about the renewal of one of it's prerequisite exam AZ-500. Now it shows that AZ-500 is expired.

Do I get chance to take renewal assessment or do I have to clear the exam again.

What about the Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect license is it still valid or it expired because its prerequisite exam license expired.

Regards,

Hi, Vishwanath.

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft community.

As we understand from your post, you have recently renewed your Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert Certification, but your Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate Certificate expired. We are happy to help!

By design, each Certification must be renewed individually. Renewing a higher-level Certification will not extend the expiration date of other lower-level Certificates even if they are part of the same Certification path.

On the same note, if a Certification expires, it will not affect the status of other Certifications even if they belong to the same Certification path.

As stated in our expiration policy, after a Certification expires, it can no longer be renewed through the renewal assessment available on Microsoft Learn. In that case, candidates must complete all the Exams required to re-earn said Certification.

If you wish to re-activate your Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate Certification, you must pass Exam AZ-500 again.

For more information on our renewal policy, please visit the article: Renew your Microsoft Certification | Microsoft Docs
