Student discount option not working

How do I obtain my student discount. When I follow the steps to Edit Interest> Begin interest survey

It signs me out and I am not able to update my profile to student so I can get my student discount and the system logs me out. How do I obtain my student discount to schedule my exam.

I attempted to replicate the issue you encountered and experienced the same problem when clicking the "Begin interest survey" button. I will forward your case to our support team for further investigation. Additionally, please provide the requested information in the private message I have initiated to help us locate and verify your account.

Note: Once your student discount is verified, you will be eligible for a 30% discount on fundamental exams and a 45% discount on role-based exams. However, this will change if you're residing in China or India; as of now, the only available discounts for students on the said countries are for fundamental exams.

Meanwhile, you may also want to consider joining our Microsoft Virtual Training Day event. Participants who register and complete a qualifying event are eligible for a 50% discount on eligible exams. You will receive an email with your voucher code at the email address used for registration within five business days after completing the training. Moreover, the discount code is not stackable with other discounts.

For further details and assistance regarding the event, please refer to the sticky post or visit the Microsoft Virtual Training Day event page. You can also find more information about discounted certification exams in the FAQ section.

On the other hand, regarding the student discount, we will follow up with you once the issue is resolved or if we receive any update.

I'm having the same problem. I'm experiencing the same thing as sluv876.

I find the error strange since I've taken several certifications using student discounts with this same user and using my institution's email.

We have received multiple reports that clicking the "Begin interest survey" to verify academic status results in accounts being signed out. Additionally, those who have already verified their academic status are not receiving the discounts on the checkout page. I have received an update from our support team stating that the issue with the "Begin Interest Survey" is now resolved. To ensure your student discount is applied at checkout when scheduling your exam, please visit the Student discounts | Microsoft Learn page to verify your student status.

Before verifying your student discount, I recommend performing the following basic troubleshooting steps to rule out any browser-related issues:

  1. Make sure you have the latest browser (Edge/Chrome/IE or Mozilla Firefox) and try using your browser in InPrivate/Incognito. 

  2. Clear browser cache and cookies and allow all cookies/third party cookies on your browser settings.

  3. Then proceed with verifying your Student discounts.

  4. Once your student status is verified, you can schedule your exam.


Note: Student discount will enable you to get 30% off for fundamental exams and 45% off for role-based exams, However, this will change if you're residing in China or India; as of now, the only available discounts for students on the said countries are for fundamental exams

If there is still no deduction at the checkout page despite being eligible for the student discount. For us to further investigate, kindly provide me with a step-by-step screenshot using Problem Steps Recorder (PSR) (click this link for MAC device) throughout the entire process, starting from the sign-up page (include the part showing that you are doing the "Begin Interest Survey") up until the checkout page through the private message I have initiated along the requested information.
