Unable to schedule AZ-104 exam retake - Need assistance booking the retake exam

I recently failed my AZ-104 exam and am eligible for a retake according to the policy. However, I'm encountering significant difficulties in scheduling the retake exam. Here are the issues I'm facing:

  1. Cannot find scheduling options: I've thoroughly searched both the Microsoft and Pearson VUE portals, but there's no clear option to book a retake exam.

  2. Unresponsive Pearson VUE support: I've contacted Pearson VUE support 4-5 times via email, but they've been unable to assist me. They keep redirecting me to their "Contact Us" page, which doesn't provide any relevant contact information or email addresses for my specific issue. https://home.pearsonvue.com/Test-takers/Customer-service.aspx

  3. Inaccessible support options: The international phone number provided by Pearson VUE is not feasible for me to call from Australia.

  4. Lack of user-friendly process: The current process for scheduling a retake is unnecessarily complicated. It would be much more efficient to have a simple "Schedule Retake" button on the portal.

I feel frustrated and helpless due to the lack of support and clear guidance on how to proceed. This process should not be this difficult for exam takers.Can you please assist me in booking my AZ-104 retake exam? As per our Exam Retake Policy, payment will be applied for any retake, since this will be considered as new registration. Unless you purchase an Exam Replay Offer prior to taking the exam, a retake will be free.  If not, you will need to schedule a new exam appointment to retake the test (refer to the hyperlinked texts for the steps).

Additionally, I can confirm that the AZ-104 exam falls under the role-based category wherein there is a window of 24 hours on the second attempt, and a 14-day waiting period is imposed between all subsequent attempts (up to 5) for fundamentals exam.

For immediate assistance in scheduling your exam, you may contact Pearson VUE, as they are responsible for supporting assistance with scheduling an exam, since they are the ones who can modify and have visibility for the available slots/dates. Moreover, since you mentioned that you have already reached out to them, please note that their typical response time is within 3-5 business days.


On the other hand, you may want to take advantage other offer that we currently have for AZ-104 exam as stated below:

However, I believe there's a misunderstanding regarding the retake policy that needs clarification.My understanding is that Microsoft offers up to 5 free retake exams for candidates who fail certain certification exams, including the AZ-104. This is a key part of Microsoft's certification program and a significant factor for many candidates.I've recently contacted Pearson VUE's support center, and they explicitly stated that I need to obtain a free retake exam voucher from Microsoft to schedule the retake. Given this information, I need your assistance with the following:

  1. Please confirm that the AZ-104 exam is indeed eligible for the free retake offer.

  2. Provide clear instructions on how to obtain the free retake voucher.

  3. Outline the exact steps to schedule my retake exam once I have the voucher.

My goal is to retake the AZ-104 exam as soon as possible. The current process seems unnecessarily complicated, and I'm seeking your help to navigate it correctly and efficiently.I look forward to your prompt response clarifying these points and facilitating the scheduling of my retake exam. Please note that each Exam Retake requires a fee, as it is treated as a new registration. This means if you plan to retake your AZ-104 exam, you will need to pay the regular fee unless you have a discount. If you don’t have a discount, the regular fee applies.

Meanwhile, you are eligible for a free retake only if you purchased an Exam Replay Offer before scheduling your initial exam. This offer includes one Microsoft Certified Professional Certification exam voucher and (1) one retake of that same exam for free. Please note that this voucher cannot be applied if you purchase it after your first attempt.

To retake the exam, you will need to schedule a new exam appointment (refer to the hyperlinked texts for the steps). Kindly sign into Learn using the same personal Microsoft account (MSA) you used to schedule your exam before.

To verify your account and check if you used an Exam Replay voucher, please provide the requested information in the private message I have initiated.
