Unfair Changes with Fabric Analytics Engineer Certificate

Dear Microsoft team and community,

Last year I successfully passed a quite difficult exam which measures also data engineering skills such as lakehouse and pyspark concepts and received DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification. At that time there was no DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification. So now, even though my data engineer skills were certified, when somebody looks into my certificate sees only analytics skills which is very unfair.

I am a Data Engineer with 2 years experience. Considering myself still as a junior data engineer, this certification is very important for my career development, and it is very sad that now I can't prove that my data engineering skills were certified by Microsoft.

For this reason, I trust that Microsoft team will re-evaluate this situation and support me with this problem I'm having. Ideal solution would be either to be provided also with DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification given the fact that I passed an exam for all its subjects, or at least my existing certification to be change to to that one since the main reason I had obtain it was for data engineering component.

Is there anybody facing the same situation with me, and if so did any of you take any action to resolve it? Is there way to direcly contact Mivrosoft about this?

Thanks!

Hi MG_1008!

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft community.

As we understand from your post, you are dissatisfied with the release of the new DP-700 certification. We are happy to help!

If you have a complaint that you would like to file, you must make use of the Report feedback form found within the Learn platform, which will allow you to describe the complete issue so that our team can take the feedback and apply changes if necessary.

You may find the form in this link and use it as shown: Troubleshooting common training issues in Microsoft Learn | Microsoft Learn.

That being said, we understand your point of view and agree that it is not completely fair, however, we can confirm that this does not automatically grant you the possibility of receiving a new Certification but instead just allows the team to evaluate the situation and apply changes to the one you already hold.

Just be aware that the feedback form is a one-way communication form and you might not hear back from the team until actual changes are applied:

We can assure you that our team takes feedback very seriously and that we try, as a team, to be as fair as possible and to compensate candidates with options within our reach.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. If no response is received within the next business day, the thread will be closed and locked.

Sincerely,

Sebastian Florez.
