What are the differences between courses MS-700T00-A and MS-721T00-A

I have significant experience managing an MS Teams Direct Routing deployment and would like to further validate my expertise with a relevant certification. However, I'm unsure which certification would best align with my experience. Additionally, I would like to know if one certification is ranked higher or serves as a prerequisite for the other.

Could you please advise?

Thank you,

Jason M

Hello J.Morrison.

Welcome to Microsoft’s Community.

We understand that you want to know the difference between two courses and the Certificates. We will gladly assist.

Initially, it's important to recognize that both certificates are at the Intermediate level, and upon completion, you will be certified as an Associate. Additionally, each certificate is independent and currently has no prerequisites.

Let’s explore the differences between MS-700T00-A: Managing Microsoft Teams and MS-721T00-A: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer courses:

  1. MS-700T00-A: Managing Microsoft Teams:

    • Overview: This course is designed for individuals aspiring to become Microsoft 365 Teams Administrators. It focuses on efficient and effective collaboration and communication within a Microsoft 365 environment using Microsoft Teams.

    • Role Focus: Participants learn how to plan, deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Teams. The course covers various Teams management tools, security and compliance features, network requirements for Teams deployment, and different Teams settings and policies.

    • Certification: It aligns with the Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification.

  1. MS-721T00-A: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer:

    • Overview: This training course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to become a Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer.

    • Role Focus: The course covers topics related to collaboration and communication systems engineering. Participants learn about various aspects of communication tools and systems.

    • Certification: It aligns with the Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate certification.

In summary, while both courses touch on collaboration and communication within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, MS-700T00-A specifically focuses on Microsoft Teams administration, whereas MS-721T00-A provides broader knowledge related to collaboration systems engineering. Depending on your interests and career goals, you can choose the course that aligns best with your aspirations!

Given your experience managing an MS Teams Direct Routing deployment, I recommend the MS-721T00-A: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer course. It will complement your existing expertise by covering various aspects of communication tools and systems. Plus, it aligns with the Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate certification, which could be valuable for your career growth.
