Power Platform Certification Guidelines

Hi everyone,

I am thinking to start learning about power apps and other functionality for my career protective. I have experience in C# and MVC, and angular. I am not sure about the certification path for power apps platform. According to my research, if I start preparing for  Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals and Exam PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer. but, I got confused between these two exams. I don't have experience in power apps and data service. So, I am not ready for the PL-400 exam.  What will be the first step to start preparing and getting more knowledge about power platform fundamentals for PL-400.

Thanks

Nirmal

Answer

Hi Nirmal,

Thank you for having interest in Microsoft Certifications.

We do not provide any recommendations on our certification paths to our candidates as the exams being taken are usually due to their background in technology or based on their school or work requirement.

In addition, there is no order in taking any exam or certification; hence, you can start right away in any level. Certificates are earned once you passed all the prerequisite exams.

Also, fundamental certifications are the most basic certifications that we currently offer. These are being taken by candidates, especially students or those who are new to the Information Technology field.

If you are hesitant to go on the advanced level like the Associate or Expert certifications, you may start with the Fundamentals first.

As for preparation materials, the recommended trainings can be found on the exam detail page under Ways to Prepare.

Just as important, training materials are only guide to study for the exam. There is no guarantee that taking these courses will get you a 100% passing rate. We still recommend our candidates to have an actual hands-on experience with the software before taking the test.

I hope this helps.
