Thank you for joining. You don't current qualify for a Microsoft 365 Developer Program sandbox subscription.. Why?

I am trying to create a Microsoft 365 Developer Account, but I am getting this message always. I have tried creating using my personal and professional account but both don't seem to work.

I want to create a custom team bot to link it with my website. For that I need a tenant account, I am not able to create one, I am always getting this error

also I tried creating it with my work email, I got this error there

All over the documentation, it says the eligible candidates can join the developer's program though at first it says it's free for all. there are no eligibility criteria mentioned. How should we know what's the issue with our account?

This is frustrating. I want to create a custom team app and explore its functionalities but this account has been a bottleneck for me.

Please help me here.

Hi Kartiki,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Community.

I can hear your frustration and understand how challenging it must be to encounter these repeated obstacles while trying to create your Microsoft 365 Developer Account and exploring the capabilities of Microsoft Teams, but technical issues stand in your way. Allow me to provide you with further information on this.

We've received numerous reports from other candidates who are facing error messages stating, "You don't currently qualify for a Microsoft 365 Developer Program sandbox subscription," during their sandbox setup. To provide further assistance, below are the recommended steps we advise them to take:

  • If you're an active MCT with a Visual Studio Subscription, I recommend reaching out to Visual Studio Support. They specialize in addressing concerns regarding Visual Studio accounts and their associated benefits. You can submit an online request or contact them directly at +18007595474.

  • Otherwise, if you don't have a Visual Studio Subscription and are only joining for free, please note that as per the recent announcement on this Microsoft 365 Developer Program - Microsoft 365 Developer Blog, registration for the M365 DEV Subscription is currently closed. This affects customers without a PAID & Active VSS. Any updates regarding when this will resume or when this feature will become available again will be announced on the above-mentioned blog.

With that being said, we recommend visiting the blog announcement regularly to stay updated on any changes.

Please be advised that the support team you've reached is Microsoft Certified Trainer which primarily handles inquiries related to MCT renewal/enrollment, benefits, and access to various platforms like the Learning Download Center and MCT Lounge.

I genuinely appreciate your kind understanding on this matter. Should you have other clarifications, please do not hesitate to let me know and I'll be happy to help you with it.
