Environment for assessment test does not load properly


Hello,

I am trying to take an assessment test. The virtual machine cannot be resized and I keep getting "Retry Connection" prompt. May someone here help me on this issue. Please let me know if any piece of information is needed. Thanks.

Based on the feedback we've received regarding issues encountered by our learners, it has come to our attention that many performance-related issues can be resolved by confirming that your computer meets the necessary system requirements and ensuring you have an sufficient bandwidth.

With this, kindly review the Assessment Lab System Readiness requirements, and take advantage of the Speed Test and Lab Orientation and Connectivity Check tools available on our Assessment lab frequently asked questions | Microsoft Learn page

With this, we asked you to retake the assessment, and if the issue persist, kindly provide the following information below so we can have this check with our Support Team.

  • the Title of the Assessment:

  • Lab Instance ID: That can be found in the Instructions tab of the lab. If you have launched the assessment, this is found in the instructions tab under "Troubleshooting."

  • URL: Copy the entire URL of the problematic page and paste it in your response:

I appreciate your quick response. Below please find my answers to the questions you asked. I am responding to them to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Once I clicked on the "Lab Orientation & Connectivity Check" link, a new page opened up on the browser (screenshot below).

It might be worthwhile to mention that when I tried to take the assessment test, earlier today, the lab environment and instruction panes were not expandable. They did not open in a new page and I could not resize them. They were stuck between the top and bottom of the "Assessment" page (screenshot below).

Below please find a screenshot from running a speed test. All features of the test pass with the "Excellent" status.

As you might know, I need to wait 72 hours before I can re-take the assessment! If it helps to expedite the process of resolving problems, I try to answer the questions that you asked regarding the test that I tried to take this morning.

  • Lab Instance ID: That can be found in the Instructions tab of the lab. If you have launched the assessment, this is found in the instructions tab under "Troubleshooting." 41590346

    2. I kept getting the alert "The connection to your lab machines appears to have been interrupted." along with a "Retry Connection" blue button.

Thanks for sharing the advice. I went through the provided instructions and guidance one by one and verified that my computer meets the system requirements.

I will take the assessment after the 3-day wait period and keep my fingers crossed that the lab launches properly this time!

Hi Jan,

It's Saturday night and I am trying to retake the assessment after the 3-day wait time. Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same problem as I faced in the first attempt. This time I have hard-wired my computer to my router, in the hopes of getting a better connection and a lower number for jitter. As you can see in the screenshot below all numbers meet the "excellent" status.

I'm adding a screenshot from the whole page, below, in case it might help to resolve the issue. For what it's worth, I also used both chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers to take the test. Results were the same.

I appreciate your helping me to get this technical problem resolved because I think I have a very limited time to retake the assessment test. Based on what I see on the page, I have time till June 21st to take the test.

In addition, based on the screenshot you provided, it appears there may have been some confusion. The screenshot refers to the “Registration | Microsoft Learn Challenge: Build Edition”, not the “Build a Natural Language Processing Solution with Azure AI Language” assessment.

Please note that the waiting period for retaking assessments is typically 3 days. After this period, you should be able to attempt the assessment again.

We understand how important this assessment is for you and we’re committed to providing a solution as quickly as possible.

As for the last screenshot that I added to my message, yes it is from the registration page. It does NOT refer to the assessment page. I added that screenshot to emphasize the fact that I have until June 21st to take the test. I wanted to urge you to resolve the issue as fast as you can because time is of the essence. I only added it to highlight "June 21,2024"

To avoid any confusion, I am adding a screenshot of what I wrote in my last post with my intention highlighted. I only wanted to emphasize on the deadline in the hopes of getting some help faster.

Hi Jan,

It's Thursday night on 6/20/2024. I have not heard back from the support team as of now. I assume tomorrow is the last day for taking the assessment test, unless I am wrong on that assumption. Therefore, there is no luck for me to take the test.

Hope my failed experience of taking the test gives the support team some clue to prevent it from happening for others who try to take the test in the future.
