General | Student Discount: Clarification on Student Discount Pricing for DP-700 Exam

I am a student and currently preparing to take the DP-700: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI certification exam. I have updated my Microsoft Learn profile to reflect my student status and proceeded to the checkout page to register for the exam.

However, I noticed that the final checkout price shows as $91–$92 USD, even when logged in with my student account. Out of curiosity, I also checked the same with a general (non-student) email ID, and the price appears to be the same.

I was under the impression that Microsoft offers a 45% or 50% discount for verified students on certification exams. This has left me a bit confused, and I wanted to ask:

  • Is $91–$92 the discounted student price, or is it the regular price for all candidates?

  • If it is not the discounted student price, could you please help me verify whether my student status has been successfully recognized in your system(***REMOVED***)?

Since you have successfully verified your student profile, please be advised that the student discount will be applied automatically at the checkout page. Kindly proceed with scheduling an exam and, upon reaching the checkout page, verify whether the exam cost has been reduced accordingly.

Please note that once student verification is completed, the discount applied is as follows:

  • Role-based exams: 45% discount

  • Fundamental exams: 30% discount

Additionally, to ensure the student discount is properly applied, please follow the steps outlined under Student discounts carefully. In step 3, select only the "Student" option and refrain from choosing any other category.

If the issue persists despite following these instructions, kindly provide a recorded walkthrough of the process via private message, starting from the sign-in page through to the checkout page, so that further assistance can be provided.

For Windows users, you can create the recording with the Snipping Tool as follows. For MAC devices, please follow the instructions available at this link.
