General | Student Discount: How do I use my student discount for exams?

I have identified myself as a student on my profile, but when I go to schedule an exam I am still seeing the full fee and no discount.
I am a student at Chisholm Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

Please advise me on how I can benefit from the student discount.

I understand how important it is to register your exam along with your academic discount. Rest assured that I will provide you with guidance and assistance so you can avail yourself of this benefit.

To claim and apply your student discount, please follow the steps below:

  1. Begin the interest survey

  2. Select "Career Paths", then choose Student.

  3. Complete the rest of the Interest Survey and click "Finished" when completed.


For detailed reference, you may visit Student discounts | Microsoft Learn.

Once your academic status is verified, you can proceed in scheduling your preferred exam. The discount will be applied automatically at checkout. Please note that by identifying yourself as a student in your certification profile, you can receive a 30% discount on fundamental exams (available in all countries) and a 45% discount on role-based exams (excluding India and China).

Hi, this is what I had already tried. When I add the exam to my cart and go to checkout, the full price is still displayed with no discount being applied. Please advise me on what to do next.

Since you've mentioned that you are encountering an error when applying the student discount, I kindly request to send us a step-by-step screenshot using Problem Steps Recorder (PSR) (click this link for MAC device) throughout the entire process (including the troubleshooting steps), starting from the sign-in page up until the last page that shows the error. You may send this along with further information through the private message I initiated. If the hyperlink provided doesn't work, kindly locate the Private Message icon as shown below:

Hi, there is no visible error. Its just that I do not receive any student discount when adding the exam to my cart( it is still shown at the full price). I have replied to your email with the requested information.

To further investigate the error, please be advised that we need a complete step-by-step screenshot using the Problem Steps Recorder (PSR) (click this link for MAC device) or Snipping tool.  This should cover the entire process, starting from the verification process until the check-out page upon attempting to schedule the exam.
