MCSE 2003 Upgrade

With the retiring of 70-417 is there an upgrade path to MCSA 2012 or 2016? I would like to upgrade my MCSA/MCSE to a more current level of 2016 or 2019. Is there a new path available to upgrade these certifications?

Thanks!

Hello, Golfboyz.

We are glad to have you in our Microsoft’s Forum Center.

We understand that you want to know the replacement for the MCSA or MCSE.

Please keep in mind that there will not be Windows Server 2019 certifications anymore; but no worries, Windows Server 2019 content will be included in role-based certifications on an as-needed basis for certain job roles in the Azure Apps & Infrastructure and Data & AI solution areas.

In this case, we would like to recommend you the following certifications:

Also, since we announced our focus on role-based training and certifications in September 2018, we’ve added a total of 34 certifications to our portfolio across Azure, Modern Workplace, and Business Applications.

Moreover, be sure to visit Microsoft Learn to discover all the information you need to know about the role-based certification that best matches your career aspirations. We are sure this will be very useful for you too.

Finally, we would like to share with you two channels where you can be updated with our latest news:

Thank you for that information. From what I can see in order to obtain the MCSE: Productivity Solutions Expert certification here are the prereqs. Would I have to take all the 2012/2016 MCSA test in order to obtain that cert now since 70-417 has been retired?

To become an MCSE: Productivity Solutions Expert, complete the following requirements:
