MCSE Core Infrastructure exams - unclear information

Hi,

For MCSE Core Infrastructure certification page (below link), the diagram shows we need to pass 3 exams after having valid MCSA 2012 or MCSA 2016. But on the same page in the descriptions, it is mentioned we only need to pass one elective exam from the given list. so this is not clear. Is it a typo in the page? which one is correct? 1 exam from 5 given elective exams or 3 from 5 or only 3 listed in the diagram?

Hello, Ali.

We are glad to have you here at Microsoft Community.

We understand from your post that you would like to know which was the correct path to obtain MCSE: Core Infrastructure.

Keep in mind that to be certified as a MCSE: Core Infrastructure you would have to:

Earn one prerequisite certification:

Prerequisite Option 1: MCSA: Windows Server 2012.

Prerequisite Option 2: MCSA: Windows Server 2016.

Please keep in mind that to be certified as a MCSA: Windows Server 2012 the required exams for this Certification are the following:

Exam 70-410: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012

Exam 70-411: Administering Windows Server 2012

Exam 70-412: Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services

However, if you wanted to pursue the MCSA: Windows Server 2016, the required exams for this Certification are the following:

Exam 70-740: Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016

Exam 70-741: Networking with Windows Server 2016

Exam 70-742: Identity with Windows Server 2016

In the diagram you can see the distribution more clearly and which elective Exams were available.

Thanks for the clarification.  I already have MCSA 2016. So, based on the diagram you posted, I only need to pass one exam  from the elective exam pool. I believe the original diagram in the certification web page is very misleading as it still says after getting MCSA 2012/2016 , take 3 exams and there is "AND" (not OR) between the exams.

Also noticed all exams listed as elective are already expired on 31 Jan 2021:

MCSE: Core Infrastructure - Learn | Microsoft Docs

So what would the replacement exams to upgrade my MCSA 2016 to MCSE Core Infrastructure if all electives are expired?
