MS Learn login issues

After logging in to MS Learn using my personal account which has been previously registered, I am stuck in a loop where I am asked to check whether I have previously registered with a different account and then having to create my profile.

I can navigate to "Profile" and "Settings" where I can see my past exams and personal info, but if I try to go to any other MS Learn-page I am back in the loop of re-registering. I want to schedule an exam but I am not even able to go to the main page for MS Learn.

This is what I have tried so far:

  • Edge and Chrome browsers

  • Deleting browsing data (including cache and cookies)

  • InPrivate/incognito

  • Allow 3rd party cookies

  • Different device (Windows 11 & Android)

Hi, AndréL365!

Welcome to Microsoft's Community.

Based on your inquiry, we understand that you are experiencing issues with the Learn Platform. We will gladly help.

We invite you to provide us with a PSR (Problem Steps Recorder), so we can have a deeper understanding of the situation.

Problem Steps Recorder (PSR) is a software used for capturing information about procedures on a computer. This information includes a picture of the screen during each step of the situation and a text description of the selected areas. We will use this information to take a further step in the resolution of this issue.

Here are the instructions for accessing the PSR tool, depending on your Operating System:

Some considerations:

  • The file has to be sent as a Private Message in .zip format.

  • The tool only collects the last 25 screenshots. If you need more steps recorded, refer to the “Adjust settings” section to increase this value.

  • These instructions work on Windows 7 and later versions.

  • PSR does not capture any keyboard entry during the recording. If any input is important to re-create the issue, you can use the comment feature.

  • Please make sure the error is clearly visible in the recording.

Remember to send the record in .zip format through the Private Message we have opened, where we will request information related to your Certification Profile in order to verify it and address the request accordingly. You can access the conversation by clicking on the icon located on the top right corner of this page, it looks like this:

Hi Franklin,

I managed to resolve my issue myself.

For me, the issue was related to "Legal name". After submitting the register profile form it says "You're all set" - however I noticed that the request was actually failing with 400 BadRequest response along with a validation error message. Apparently when the form is submitted it is trying to set first, middle and last name to "" - thus triggering the validation errors. I am guessing the attributes were removed from the form at one point, but they are still being sent as empty because they have no values on the form itself.

By going to the Settings page and "Legal name" section I was able to perform a Save - and that solved the issue for me. Your milage may vary.

As feedback to the UX Team or whoever decided to remove Legal name from the form - either add it back to the form or don't send empty values for the missing attributes as part of the form data.
