New Azure Certification Tracks - AZ100/101 or 300/301

Hi, I was hoping someone could give me some general advice about which route to go for the new Azure certifications. I am torn between doing the AZ100/101 Administer exams or going for the AZ300/301 Architect. From looking at some of the training videos for both, it seems the AZ300/301 incorporates a lot of the AZ100/101 material plus extra. Is it worth doing the two exams for the Administer certification first and then learning the gap to go down the Architect route? which would total 4 exams or would it make more sense just to go straight down the Architect route as it covers the same topics and then some?

My role is often mixed between design and administration which is why I am interested in both.

I hope that makes sense!, thanks in advance for any advice

Hi JamesCook5222,

Glad to assist you with the new Azure certifications.

Since the dilemma you are having is between the same Azure track, I would suggest to take the AZ-300 and AZ-301 exams and obtain the Microsoft Azure: Architect Expert certification as it has broader topic compared to the Azure Administrator certification. Also, the Azure Architect path covers most of the same scope as the latter certification.

You may find more details about the Microsoft Azure Architect Expert certification in this link.
