PearsonVue tells me that I cannot retake an exam without paying full price

I recently took the AZ-301 and didn't pass. I'd like to schedule a retake of the exam, but since it's now the AZ-304 I don't seem to be able to schedule a retake since I haven't actually taken the AZ-304. I reached out to PearsonVue and was told the following:

Dear Michael,

Thank you for contacting Pearson VUE.

According to the voucher code, we see that it can only be used once. To retake an exam, the full fee will be applicable. Exam scheduling is available through our website at Pearson VUE - For Test Takers where you can create or sign into your account. You can also contact a Reservation Specialist at 855-542-6924 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM CST, Monday - Friday for further assistance in scheduling your exam.

If you have any further questions, please contact us again.

Is it true that I will need to pay full price to schedule a retake since the exam changed?

Answer

Hi Mike,

Thank you for posting your query.

Voucher code is used only once, As per the "Certification Exam Policies & FAQ", If you fail an exam and want to retake it, you will have to pay for it again, regardless whether you've used a voucher the first time or not.

Exam retake exceptions will be granted for the following reasons:

  • Failure due to lab crash
  • Failure due to internet connectivity issues
  • Failure due to equipment failure

If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us in next 2 business days. Or the thread will be automatically closed, locked, and marked as answered.

Regards,

Veena
