Hello,
I'm studying for the MS-900 Certification Exam and I keep running into questions about topics that weren't in the MS-900 Training Materials. For example, there is a question about protecting data in RAM and CPU caches. The correct answer to the question, according to the practice exam, is enclaves, but I only know this from googling the question and finding a post from 2023 on this very forum about missing information from the MS-900 training materials. It's been two years since this question was posted and not a single page within the MS-900 training materials discusses CPUs, RAM, enclaves, or even touches upon the basic concept of encryption, so I must admit to some disappointment that this issue has persisted for so long.
I'm having the same issue with the questions on the Zero Trust Model. This topic is also not covered properly in the MS-900 training. The MS-900 training materials do mention the Zero Trust Model and other related topics, but again, in an off-hand way, as if I should have already covered it in a previous section. So, in response to another incorrect answer on the practice exam, I clicked on "Check Your Answer" and was provided a link to a page called "Describe the Zero Trust model." Confused as to how I could have missed this while going through the training for the MS-900, I navigated to the front page for the module so I could figure out where in the MS-900 course it was located. It was on that page that I discovered that the training on the Zero Trust model (and enclaves, it turns out) is actually in the training course for a completely different exam, the SC-900! I checked and this course is not mentioned anywhere in the MS-900 study guide or training course materials. The MS-900 study guide does list "describe the zero trust model" as one of the skills tested by the exam, however, but in no way indicates that the knowledge to describe the zero trust model will be imparted elsewhere.
So my question is, is the SC-900 supposed to be a prerequisite for the MS-900? If so, why is it not listed as such on the MS-900 training course page, exam page, or study guide? If not, why does the practice exam for the MS-900 cover material that was not in the MS-900 course or AZ-900 prerequisite?
