Will deleting an alias that was the original email for certifications have an impact on Learn Transcript?

Basically I took a few certs using an old hotmail.com address. I have already put in a change name request and everything is correct now and it is also tied to my @wolterskluwer.com address and I think my @outlook.com address as well here. My @outlook.com personal address is the primary now for my personal account. Will deleting the @hotmail.com address have any impact on my Learn Transcript now that everything is set up for the @outlook.com and @wolterskluwer.com addresses (they were linked)?

Just making sure before removing it as I remember seeing a warning about it awhile back and wondering if that has changed a bit. I can provide the actual @hotmail, @outlook, and @wolterskluwer emails too if needed that SHOULD be associated with my Learn account. The @hotmail email though too is also what is tied to my Windows 10 key. So a couple questions on it if the deleting of the alias shouldn't affect ANYTHING on the account since it was once the primary and only email.

Hi, Matt.

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft community.

As we understand from your post, you would like to know if updating your alias would affect your Transcript. We are happy to help!

You have contacted us through the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) support forums. Please bear in mind that we can only provide support regarding your Certification Profile, and the achievement of the Certifications listed on our platform.

Per design, updating the main alias of your Microsoft account will not negatively impact any Microsoft products, subscriptions, or services connected to said account, this includes both your Certification and Learn profiles.

Keep in mind that if the email address of the deleted alias is from a Microsoft domain (@hotmail, @outlook), said alias will be permanently deleted and it will not be possible to link it to another Microsoft account.

It is also important to note that when a user changes their main alias, it may not be automatically updated on their Certification Profile. This means that the account connected to your Certification Profile may still display your previous alias after it has been updated.

To fix this, we would need to update the Microsoft account associated with your Certification Profile once your alias is updated.

In case you run into any trouble signing into your Learning dashboard and accessing your Certificates after updating this information, you can let us know by posting a New Question. We will be happy to help.

If you run into any trouble updating your alias or have other queries regarding this process, we invite you to visit: Contact Us - Microsoft Support, where you can contact a Microsoft specialist by submitting a request or through the Get Help Windows app.

We hope that you find this information to be helpful. If so, please let us know by selecting "Yes" where it says, "Did this solve your problem?" located at the lower right corner of this post.

If we do not receive a response, the case will be closed and locked after one business day.
