Azure Pass: How to get an Azure Pass

As an MCT, when preparing for courses, getting deeper insight for my trainings, or doing self study for new ones, I've always used Azure Pass.


Now I've was trying to do the same thing, but I can choose a course from the list. And since that is a required field I don't get any further.


Are Azure Passes no longer available? And if so, is there a replacement? I don't want to use my MCT-account on Azure, because that quickly spend.

First off, I want to commend you for taking the initiative to bring this up. Just a heads-up, the Azure Pass program has endedwhich means courses are no longer available on the Azure Pass Portal website. Thus, we're excited to introduce you to new opportunities and resources for you to explore.

Please be advised that all courses can be accessed through the MCT Lab Readiness portal to prepare for delivering new courses without an Azure Pass. Kindly ensure you are using the correct credentials to sign in. If you have lost access to Xtremelabs, kindly email their support team at support@xtremelabs.io to request access. For further guidance, please refer to the Lost access to Xtremelabs? | Microsoft Community Hub page.

If you are scheduled to teach a class, you can also contact your Authorized Lab Hoster.

Thanks for your answer. and yes I have access to lab environments.

But that's the problem. These have limited access to the environment. So I can do what is required in the lab. If I want to go beyond, because as a trainer I should dig further, I'm blocked.

These labs also have limited time. So if I have waited 15-30 minutes to create for example a Synapse workspace with a SQL Pool, this is only available for me for 2 hours tops. And if that time has passed, I've to start all over again.

Why don't you keep this for MCTs?

Becuase there was massive abuse of Azure Passes.

I understand the challenges you're facing with the limited access and time constraints in the lab environments. As a trainer, it's crucial to have the ability to explore and dig deeper, and I can see how these limitations can be quite challenging.

The issue of having to wait for resources like a Synapse workspace with a SQL Pool, only to have a limited window to use them, is certainly a significant hurdle. Ensuring that we find viable solutions for you is of utmost importance. As a result, I have already forwarded this case to our support team.

I have checked for an update and found that, according to our Support Team, as an active MCT, you can utilize your Visual Studio subscriptions to deliver classes, as there are no limitations set on these subscriptions.

Obviously I have missed something :-), cause I don't know about a Visual Studio subscription. Nor how to find it or to use it with regards to Azure.

Can you point me in the right direction?
